I know this has been all over the internet of late, PSN will soon be shutting down all new game purchases for PSP, PS Vita and PS3. I don't know about the rest of you when I checked PSN on my PS3 more than a month ago it was already shutdown. I actually got a message which said "Feature Unavailable". So I went to their site, none of these systems were even listed. Although from my understanding you can still access your download lists.
Frankly I am surprised it has become such big news. Psychical copies are still available, as far as playing Online there are still ways around this. As far as digital only games? The Mod and homebrew scene already has them available although I am unsure on how many?
All I see and have been seeing in the various groups is that the number who are interested in Modding has jumped significantly. I can safely assume that the number of downloads from so called Rom sites have also jumped.
So fear not that you won't be able to find any new games. You still will be able to download them.

Some might have noticed that the number of posts have gone down since the end of 2020. There are 2 reasons for that. 1st is the continuing pandemic, the 2nd hit me on a much more personal level. My dog Jake after 14+ years died of cancer on Dec 1st 2020. His death really took me hard, although I am recovering, climbing out of the way I feel has been made harder because of this pandemic. Although I do have plans on looking for new games. I just don't feel like even downloading anything currently, and the few games I have gotten recently were psychical copies of games I previously downloaded.
In addition 2 of my PSPs died, and the UMD drive have stopped working in the 2 I have remaining. They will be fixed eventually but due to the pandemic, you know the rest.
I will be coming back, although I just don't know when.
