UMD on TV: Beavis and Butt-Head: The Mike Judge Collection

March 8. 1993 to Nov 29, 2011
Total Number of episodes 222

Plot

The show centers on two socially incompetent, heavy metal-loving teenage delinquents, Beavis and Butt-Head (both voiced by Judge), who go to school at Highland High in Highland, Texas. They have no apparent adult supervision at home, are dim-witted, under-educated and barely literate. Both lack any empathy or moral scruples, even regarding each other. Their most common shared activity is watching music videos, which they tend to judge by deeming them "cool" or by exclaiming "This sucks!" (the latter is sometimes followed by the demand "Change it!"). They also apply these judgments to other things that they encounter, and will usually deem something "cool" if it is associated with heavy metal, violence, sex, destruction or the macabre. Despite having no experience with girls, their other signature traits are a shared obsession with sex, and their tendency to chuckle and giggle (“Heh heh heh!”) whenever they hear words or phrases that can even remotely be interpreted as sexual or scatological.

Though Beavis and Butt-Head are in ninth grade at Highland High School, their stupidity leads to a demotion all the way down to kindergarten in the episode "Held Back," but they soon prove to be such an annoyance that the elementary school principal quickly re-promotes them back to Highland High.

Each episode features frequent interstitial scenes in which they critique music videos using commentary improvised by Judge. The remainder of the episode depicts the duo embarking on some kind of scheme or adventure. Their teachers at Highland High are often at a loss as to how to deal with them, and in many episodes, they skip school altogether. Their actions sometimes result in serious consequences, but often for others, for which they themselves show no remorse whatsoever.

Media

Beavis and Butt-Head: The Mike Judge Collection is a series of three-disc DVD sets from MTV and Paramount Home Entertainment, each containing 40 Beavis and Butt-Head episodes handpicked by series creator Mike Judge plus supplements. The first entry in the series was released on November 8, 2005, while the final two volumes were released in 2006.

In 2007, the complete box set was released, which includes the content from all three volumes as well as the film, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America: the blurb on the back jokingly says that "if you're the kind of dedicated, determined Beavis and Butt-Head fan who eagerly bought Volumes 1, 2, and 3 of The Mike Judge Collection, well, uh... you just got screwed".

In 2012 the three volumes were reissued in a single DVD case format, as opposed to the earlier issues which included three DVD cases in a box.

The Mike Judge Collection was also released in three volumes in UMD format on the PlayStation Portable. Due to the limited space available on UMDs, the interviews, music videos, and other content was removed and the number of episodes on each collection was reduced.

On February 14, 2017, MTV released Beavis and Butt-Head - The Complete Collection, a 12-disc set containing all four previously released volumes of The Mike Judge Collection, along with a special collector's edition of Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.

Gameshark Media Manager for PSP Review

I bought a Gameshark Media Manager off of Amazon recently I was hoping to share what I find within that software and frankly what I got surprised me.

It seems all that software wants to do is connect the Gameshark dot com and that's it. Apparently the software is either incomplete or locked. But since that site is no longer around, all it gives are messages.

Overall even though the program did install, but in my opinion it is completely unusable.

I say more  collectors item than anything else. My advise if you get one keep it in the original package unless you actually need that connector cable.
