History of the Series

Spider-Man: The New Animated Series (also known as MTV Spider-Man) is an American-Canadian animated television series based on the Marvel comic book superhero character Spider-Man. The series is a loose continuation of 2002's Spider-Man film directed by Sam Raimi, completely ignoring the events of Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3. The show was made using computer-generated imagery (CGI) rendered in cel-shading. It ran for only one season of 13 episodes, premiering on July 11, 2003, and was broadcast on MTV and YTV. Eight months later after the series finale, episodes aired in reruns on ABC Family as part of the Jetix television programming block.

Plot

The story follows the events of the first Spider-Man film. Norman Osborn is dead. Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson, and Harry Osborn attend Empire State University. Peter and Mary Jane try to establish a relationship without success. Peter's superhero duties, and later his involvement with Indira Daimonji, interfere with his romance with Mary Jane. Harry craves revenge on Spider-Man, whom he blames for the death of his father. Peter faces an assortment of other villains including the Lizard, Kraven the Hunter and Electro while trying to maintain a job and his studies. He faces two psychic twins that ruin everything in the wall-crawler's life, causing Peter to give up being Spider-Man and try to live a normal life.

Media

The complete series was released on DVD as Spider-Man: The New Animated Series: Special Edition on January 13, 2004. Four separate DVD volumes containing three episodes each were also released from 2004 to 2005. The entire series was licensed by Marvel and Sony to DigiKids/Sentimental Journeys, who re-edited the footage from many episodes into one feature, which is sold as a personalized DVD in which the purchaser's face is revealed under Spider-Man's mask and is still available through Amazon and other sources. The UMD was released under the title The Mutant Menace was released on June 14, 2005 and only contains the first 3 episodes Tight Squeeze, Law of the Jungle and Sword of Shikata.

Working PSP MAME Emulator

I was just now seeing if I could find a working MAME emulator and to my surprise I found one. This one is preloaded with 186 games. A word of warning it really doesn't work to well with a model 1000 you need a model 3000 and it's 64MB of RAM to get this working properly. It will work on both models though. Also depending on which model you use and what CFW you actually use depends on what ROMS you can actually play.

No Nonsense Review: Bleach Heart of Soul PSP

Being this being my first import title I thought I get into more detail than I usually do.

Bleach: Heat the Soul is a series of 3-D cel-shaded fighting games for the PSP based on the popular manga and anime series Bleach by Tite Kubo. Each installment is developed by Eighting and published by SCEI. All installments have been released only in Japan.

Each installment has several methods of play, with different types of game modes. New games have introduced additional modes that usually carry over to the sequels. Using characters taken directly from Bleach manga, the player uses each character's unique abilities to battle and defeat an opponent. New games expand on the series' plotline in "Story Mode" or, as it is known in Heat the Soul 3 and 4, "Mission Mode," which generally stays true to the source material. Because of this, the character roster increases with each installment.

In each game of the series, the player controls one of many characters directly based upon their Bleach manga counterparts. The player then pits their character against another, usually controlled by the game but this can also be another player depending on the mode being used. The objective of each match is to reduce the opponent's health to zero using basic attacks and special techniques unique to each character and derived from techniques they use in the source material. For instance, Ichigo Kurosaki's use of his Black Getsuga Tensho (though only while using Ichigo's bankai form) and Rukia Kuchiki's utilization of kidō. For some techniques, characters have available a "spirit gauge," which depletes upon execution. Most techniques are not executed in real time, and instead have an accompanying cinematic that takes place. Furthermore, some characters can transform into certain alternative forms mid-battle, albeit until their spirit gauge is fully drained or the player cancels the transformation. As of Heat the Soul 3, the player may select partner characters to help aid them in battle. Each partner character has different abilities based on their skills from the series. Whereas Heat the Soul 3 allows the selection of up to three partner characters, Heat the Soul 4 only allows two at a time, though the abilities of both can be combined to create more powerful effects.

Each installment introduces new ways of playing through Story Mode. Heat the Soul features a classic story mode, allowing the player to simply relive all the important battles from the beginning of the series. Heat the Soul 2 adds a bit of variety to the original story mode, allowing players to play through each character's individual story. For example, if Ichigo Kurosaki is selected, the player must fight all his battles with the shinigami; if Byakuya Kuchiki is selected, the player must stop Ichigo and his friends from saving Rukia Kuchiki. Heat the Soul 3 no longer uses "Story Mode" but rather "Mission Mode." In Mission Mode, the player must relive the battles of the series, though must meet certain conditions, such as a time limit, before being able to move on. Heat the Soul 4 also uses Mission Mode. Depending on completion time and remaining stamina, the player is awarded a rank of "S" through "C," S being the highest ranking possible. If awarded S or A, a scenario branching occurs.

For the record there is a total of 7 games.

So how does it play? Although I can't quite figure out both the options and the fire buttons do the game plays amazingly well. My PSP has zero problems with this import. For more or less a fighter it's very well made, and rather fun. It really doesn't matter if your a fan of the anime, or even if your a fan of fighters. An excellent game, is an excellent game.

No Nonsense Review: Lara Croft Tomb Raider Anniversary PSP

If there is such a thing as a perfect Tomb Raider game Tomb Raider Anniversary is it. Control Perfect, Graphics somewhere between the super sharp graphics of the PS4 and the PS1 it really works. The puzzles and mystery perfect.

But to add to the mystery is something I discovered when I fired up the game for on the Main Menu one your choices is Croft Mansion Mystery. Okay so I fully admit I have never played any other version of the game so I really don't know...but I can't find a reference anywhere on that not even on Wikipedia. I think there are more of a mystery to that and the entire game. But like the main game itself which is said to be a remake of the original is perfect. There is zero wrong with this game, and worth playing.

Plot

A young woman named Fuu is working as a waitress in a tea shop when she is abused by a band of samurai. She is saved by a mysterious rogue named Mugen and a young rōnin named Jin. Mugen attacks Jin after he proves to be a worthy opponent. The pair begin fighting one another and inadvertently cause the death of Shibui Tomonoshina, the magistrate's son. For this crime, they are to be executed. With help from Fuu, they are able to escape execution. In return, Fuu asks them to travel with her to find "the samurai who smells of sunflowers".

Media

Geneon licensed the show for distribution in North America almost a year prior to the show's airing in Japan. An English dub of the series premiered in the United States on the Adult Swim anime block on May 14, 2005. The version aired was edited and had foul language replaced with sound effects, in addition to cutting out blood and nudity. The final first run of the episodes concluded on March 18, 2006. Samurai Champloo debuted in Canada on December 24, 2006, on the digital station Razer. The series has also aired in the United Kingdom, France, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, Mexico, Portugal, Spain and Germany. Funimation has distributed Samurai Champloo for Geneon since they ceased in-house distribution of their titles in 2007. Geneon, in association with Funimation, re-released the entire 26-episode anime series in a box set in June 2009 and on Blu-ray in November 2009. As of November 26, 2010, Funimation has fully licensed the series and once again released the series under the Classics line on May 24, 2011 The UMD release was through Geneon between mid 2005 to 1-10-2006 when volume 4 was released.

Currently the only version that is available is the Blu-ray edition

No Nonsense Review: Scrabble PSP

I thought I better include a cover shot, hey what can I say I didn't even know this game existed. Yes, folks, we got Scrabble. It plays great and the game has plenty of options to make the game as hard or as easy as you like....just not too easy. It is still kicking my butt on easy. But with that said is it any good? Yes if you like playing Scrabble because that is what it is.

#1 With a hacked psp. Press select to access the vsh menu and change the usb drive to umd. Connect to the pc then drag and drop the ISO to your pc.


#2 You can also use UMDumper, press dump & it dumps it straight to your memory stick

An interactive street map application for the PlayStation Portable. The UMD release features city maps of metropolitan districts (one for each European city released separately on disc for the EUR version), with streets, detailed building location markers, hotspot locations (including dining, shops, sight-seeing areas, plus more) and many other details for easy city running.
