No Nonsense Review: Thexder Neo PSP

One of the most intense shooters I ever played. You fight in screen size rooms, you can be either a mech or a fighter plane as the enemies attack you in mass. Even on easy mode, this game is hard.

Overall score 8/ 10

No Nonsense Review: Salamander Portable PSP

Salamander Portable is a compilation that contains ports of five arcade shooters from Konami:

Life Force (updated Japanese version)
Gradius 2 (MSX version)
Salamander
Salamander 2
Xexex

What can I say but they all are fantastic side-scrolling shooters. The update of this one title includes only makes the game better.

No Nonsense Review: Mega Minis 1 to 3 PSP

Released only in England? are collections of PSP Mini games.

Mini 1

Zombie Tycoon

Use zombies to destroy things not a very good game

Yeti Sports

Lamest mini-games that I ever played

Spot The Differences

What's different about 2 photos, and I thought I played some lame games before this.

Pinball Fantasies

A very average pinball game

Mini 2

Polar Puzzles

A simple yet fun puzzle game

Coconut Dodge

Items fall from the top of the screen and you try and catch them. It was done better on the Atari 2600.

Red Bull X-Fighters

One of the worse motorcycle games that I ever played.

Young Thor

The best game in the collection, a beat 'em up that is both simple and fun.

Mini 3

Arcade Airhockey & Bowling

Bowling is buggy it doesn't work, the air hockey game has lousy AI

Archibald's Adventures

Escape the maze mad scientist version stupid.

Break Quest

Breakout on the Atari 2600 is better

Who's That Flying?!

A side-scrolling shooter that is fantastic!

No Nonsense Review: Parodius Portable PSP

Parodius Portable is a compilation including all main Parodius titles, released in 2007 for the PSP in Japan only. It includes an enhanced remake of the original Parodius for the MSX, as well as the PSX version of Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius, while the remaining titles are direct Arcade ports.

Games
Parodius
Parodius Da!
Gokuj? Parodius! ~ Kako no Eik? o Motomete ~
Jikky? Oshaberi Parodius ~ Forever With Me ~
Sexy Parodius

What you get is a game very much like Gradius except for the enemies. This video should explain that.

So how the game, like I very much like Gradius. If you love side-scrolling shooters you will love this game.

Overall I give it a 9/ 10 mainly because you can adjust the difficulty.

Rare PSP Games and UMDs

First up Games, when I was thinking about writing this article I was seeing some PSP games on eBay going for over $200. But when I pointed out this fact on social media, it literally changed this entire article. With some games being in demand such as P3P, SNK 0 and others you will see sellers wanting over $200 per game, but as other collectors have sworn to me it is still possible to get those games on the cheap, and if you see a game like  Imagine Champion Rider that you can not find a price for like your truly it does not mean that game is super rare. It just means it wasn't released in your area that game goes for $17 from what I have been told. So if your into collecting like me just keep your options open as you will never know what you might find and for what price.

UMD discs, on the other hand, I do know what is rare and I am being honest here it is the porn titles.  Think about this, limited release, often being sold online or in shops that sold adult toys. There isn't many out there, and they are hard to find and can be expensive. To how many titles there are...your guess is as good as mine.

No Nonsense Review: Pac-Man Championship Edition PSP

Without a doubt the best modern version of Pac-Man that I have ever been my pleasure to play. Slightly different from the original wherein once a small section is completed another appears and the game is progressively harder. A true challenge for any fan of Pac-Man. Get more than 40,000 points you have something to brag about.

A very solid 10

PSP DLC Site Found

LINK Please be aware any DLC downloaded from CD Romance will only work in a modded PSP

Also I am updating PSP DLC Lost and Found to reflect this new discovery.

No Nonsense Review: Ape Academy 2 PSP

On a personal note, this is something new to me PSP ISOs. Frankly, there are games that are hard to find like Ape Academy 2, were Digital Download Only, or Expensive like Parodius Portable that I would not be normally able to buy them let alone review them. But will talk about them after I downloaded the ISO. So with that said the review:

Ape Academy 2 was only released in Europe it is one of those collections of mini-games but with a twist, a card battle determines which mini-game you do play. I found it fun, a good way to kill time and well worth playing but only if you like Ape Escape theme mini-games.

Overall score 5/ 10

Modding a 2nd PSP: A True Story

A while back I posted a piece on modding a PSP. I know it wasn't the standard route most take but it worked for me. Then about a year or so later that same PSP had issues, it wasn't from the modding. It was just the Analog-stick needed a replacement, even though the repair looks fairly easy. I will fully admit I hadn't fixed it yet. In fact, I bought a 2nd PSP 1000 with plans to mod that one instead.

But this time I went the normal route using the one site everyone recommends Wololo.net  and followed the instructions. I upgraded the Firmware to 6.60 and then installed the CFW everything works. Even Cave Story, which I previously forgot I had downloaded...now if I can figure out how to get past the 1st room.

All the instructions are there, and good luck https://www.teamxlink.co.uk/
